  • Overview

    The Training Manager will build, implement, grow, continuously improve and deliver a comprehensive training program for the organization. Focus areas will include: preboarding activities, onboarding including new hire orientation, organizational health, personal development plans, colleague engagement, internal communication, leadership training, and performance management. As a leader within Kinney Group, the successful training professional will take ownership of all training needs and projects, manage in a matrix environment through influence and effective follow-through, assist with cascading communication initiatives, and drive toward achievement of all learning objectives to move the business forward on our strategic journey. 

     

    Key responsibilities will include:

    •  Ensure preboarding success and prepare for new hires’ successful onboarding with company managers 
    • Work with managers to design and deliver 90-day training plans for each new colleague 
    • Design and deliver forward-leaning coursework conducive to all learning styles with attention to remote delivery when necessary 
    • Create compelling curriculum for self-guided, web-based, review, and classroom style platforms 
    • Foster company success by building and maintaining a progressive, performance-based training and development culture emphasizing colleague growth and development to meet our growth needs 
    • Effective matrix management approach with Leadership team to achieve all goals and drive training forward as a competitive advantage for Kinney Group 
    • Participate in all People Operations functions and while leading the charge for comprehensive training and development programs in all areas of the business 
    • Document all training enrollments, progress, certifications, and needs within the appropriate systems 
    • Integrate with the Talent Acquisition team to focus on training programs which will allow us to hire faster and grow talent in a scalable organizational structure 
    • The ideal candidate in this role will achieve the following 2019 milestones for success:
      • Accelerate effective preboarding and onboarding checkpoints for the organization 
      • Fully implement a comprehensive 90-day orientation for new colleagues 
      • Improve existing content and develop an ongoing curriculum review and improvement focus 
      • Define industry-leading mission and objectives for the Training function 
      • Create a curriculum database for all training programs within the organization 
      • Execute a Leadership development program to upskill current colleagues and meet succession-planning needs 

    Desired Skills & Experience

    • 3+ years of training experience in academic or corporate settings 
    • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communication or related disciplines 
    • Autonomy and accountability needed to balance competing priorities 
    • Thorough understanding of various learning styles and training methodology 
    • Curriculum development/instructional design expertise and a passion for learning 
    • High energy teammate with ability to execute quickly while maintaining quality of work 
    • Strong technical aptitude demonstrated through learning and on-the-job training 
    • Good interpersonal and customer service skills to develop and maintain work relationships, communicate effectively and take initiative in addressing business needs 
    • Mastery of intermediate to advanced functions within MS Office Suite; Mac experience preferred 
    • Creative thinking and outstanding presentation skills 
    • Ability to prioritize multiple stakeholders, projects, and outcomes efficiently 
    • Flexibility, risk-taking, bias to action, and superb organizational skills will empower this role
